Dr. Sang-Yee Lee
Specialist Anaesthetist
MBBS FANZCA GC-CLINUS

Welcome to the website of Dr Sang-Yee Lee.

Dr. Lee is a specialist anaesthetist based in Melbourne, Victoria. He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2004. His interest in critical care medicine emerged during his residency, leading him to pursue training in intensive care medicine (ICU) and anaesthesia. He completed his anaesthesia training and was admitted to fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) in 2016. Currently, he serves as a visiting anaesthetic specialist at Eastern Health, Peninsula Private Hospital, Knox Private Hospital, and Monash House Private Hospital.

Dr. Lee has a strong interest in regional anaesthesia (i.e., anaesthetising only part of the body), bariatric surgery, acute pain medicine - particularly opioid-sparing techniques, and point-of-care transthoracic echocardiography. He has actively participated in quality assurance programs, authored several practice guidelines and protocols for institutions, and regularly delivers educational presentations to trainees and fellow colleagues.

In Australia, most anaesthesia is administered by highly trained medical specialists like Dr. Lee, who have undergone five or more years of training in anaesthesia, pain management, resuscitation, and the management of medical emergencies after graduating from medical school and completing internship and residency years. There is no safer place in the world to undergo anaesthesia than in Australia.
